Kiehl’s Singapore demonstrates how retailers can show dedication in sustainability practices throughout daily operations, and actively rope in customers to reduce, reuse and recycle. For example, staff segregate recyclables such as cardboard boxes for recycling at the malls. Kiehl’s bags and materials are made of 100% recycled paper and plastics, its Eco-bins from recycled wood. Parent company L’Oréal Singapore also continually upholds sustainability practices at work, and kick-started an annual Sustainability Week with talks and activities.

L’Oréal Singapore and Bolloré Logistics co-designed an innovative trucking solution in APAC. The system gives excellent stability during transport, thanks to a lashing solution tailor-made with specific dimensions that can fit both European and United States pallets, and is 100% made of steel. Eighteen collapsible racks can support up to 500 kilograms per pallet, with pallet build-up to 1.1 meters height, which are integrated onto the trucks. This has helped overcome operational challenges including space and turnaround time, to ensure that cross-border deliveries are much more sustainably efficient.
